Congratulations and thanks

Off Topic

Huge thanks go to Brian for the swift and trouble-free server upgrade for my client, Stan Urban, who recently made the semi-finals in The Voice UK. Stan's online profile went crazy after he played a duet with Sir Tom Jones singing 'Great Balls Of Fire' with Will,i,am rapping along with Stan's superb piano style.

Once again, thanks to the Jamroom team for making life go smoothly.

Massive congratulations go to piano legend Stan Urban for rocking the whole TV studio.

Creating a music history site using Genosis

Jamroom Developers

Paul, after looking at your test site on Bandjuice I have a ton of questions for you. I think I must've lost your phone number or I would've called you before now. What's the best way to have a private discussion with you nowadays? I know I can open a ticket here on Jamroom, but I don't want to clutter up the ticket system.

Menu issue on iphone

Design and Skin Customization

Hi Douglas,

I saw it on JR demos, Celebrity, and Mogul 2, and also on the Maestro skin. I never checked any of the others.

One Player to Rule Them All?

Design and Skin Customization

That's easily done. Time consuming but worth it. Just create a Playlist (something like HOUSE RADIO) then add each track. Once you have all your chosen tracks added you can drag/drop to change the order of the songs on the playlist.

It can be a bit of a pain setting this up if you have loads of songs on your site but, once it's done, it's easily maintained by adding new tracks regularly.

I hope this points you in the right direction.

One Player to Rule Them All?

Design and Skin Customization

There used to be a slim player a long time ago. Not sure if it's still part of one of the skins. Worth a look if you have access to a few skins.

Menu issue on iphone

Design and Skin Customization

Hi guys, I'm not sure if it's just me but, when viewing some of the skins using an iPhone 11 the menu doesn't open. It's fine on older iPhone models. Not sure about newer iPhone models.

Also, the landing page on the Jamroom site has a similar issue when using a Samsung (android) phone.

Creating a music history site using Genosis

Jamroom Developers

Hey Helmut,

thanks for your input on this subject. Did you get round to installing a test site for your project?

I'm looking into how I can tie various JR sites data for different Cities bands into a single site. I don't know if this can be achieved yet, but maybe some API setups and modules need done for it to work as I envision it. Pulling some data from other JR sites would add an extra layer of complexity but it also would expand JR into another realm of 'Community' site(s) for those interested in this sort of thing.

Yeah, I think you have me sussed, Paul. It seems like we have the same idea for this kind of site, thanks to Pete Frame's project. I like your plan for an 'organic' site, this is just what I had imagined for my project too. We can't be the only ones with this idea, I'm sure. Did you figure out how to link (common musician's) trees? This would be an important aspect, I think. I also thought of incorporating Venues too, as they are associated with multiple bands and solo artists. Some venues may no longer exist but it would be a good thing from a historical point of view.

Creating a music history site using Genosis

Jamroom Developers

Hi Guys,

I'm planning to create a music history site that can tie musician to the various bands they play with during their lifetime, and how musicians in all cities around the world work with, and in association with each other, making up a city-wide musical family of sorts, with ever-changing band members and influences.

I've been curious about the Genosis project for a while now, but never got around to installing it. Now I'm wondering if I can use or tweak the genosis modules and skin to work for my music history project. If anyone has a Genosis installed would you please send me a link so that I can have a look at how it works. Ta.
