solved Mark items visible only to Admin while logged in as Admin

When editing and organising the structure of jr network, we need to be logged in as Admin.

For those of us working with just one small computer, it is not easy to be logged in as an ordinary user (or other non-Admin. category) and as Admin at the same time.

Logistically, it would be very useful if Admin could know, from a highlight, shading or tag effect, whether or not the item visible on a single screen (with a single login as Admin) is visible or not to ordinary users (or any particular user category for which the admin would like to consider, while logged in as Admin)..

With this effect, if something is not visible to a particular user category, then I could quickly decide what action to take, if any, when reviewing the contents of the site.

Would such an optional effect be technically possible to implement and generally useful for jr network owners and developers?

Sorry for the delay responding here.
The easiest way to do this is just to have two different browsers open and be logged in as admin on one of them, and as a user on the other, then just switch between them. I often have several browsers open at the same time (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Brave etc.) for development that needs multiple users to test things out.
I have seen a Firefox plugin that does allow for different user sessions on different browser tabs so that may be an alternative approach, but its essentially the same thing as multi browsers.

Thanks. Maybe it is best to continue as you suggest. What I suggested might be too difficult to implement for too little extra benefit. My fantasy is for the logged-in Admin to have a god-like ability to see all points of view, with a single login. It's just a thought. I'll call this solved for now.

It might be feasible to customise the item_detail templates adding code that first checked that the user is an admin, and if so, then went on to check the $_conf array to show which quotas this view would be available to.

You might look into Firefox container tabs. It allows you to log in to a single site as different users.

So you could have a tab with a regular user logged in and a tab with the admin logged in.
